Junior Faith Horner earns bronze at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship on Aug. 4, 2022. Horner scored a 217 in the preliminaries and a 218 ½ in the final. “This was her first big year to show in the derbies,” Faith’s trainer John Tishman said. “She’s been learning a lot and been improving tremendously.”

During water polo practice freshman Slova Walker, freshman Cainan Cohen, junior Max Nguyen, freshman Suleman Aziz, freshman Jacob Duong, freshman Zach Slaughter, junior GB Stalnaker, senior Luka Zivaljevic, sophomore Jake Melley and senior Roman Duong scrimage. Stalmaker only started playing water polo two months ago, but has been competitively swimming since he was seven-years-old. "I love the team - the guys are always helpful, motivated and very dedicated," Stalnaker said. "I know the second I get in the water for the game those guys have my back."

In addition to winning, the team also honored alum Matthew Stafford by retiring his number, which Storer also wears. "It was a great win and really important for our season, but it was also a historic night," Storer said. "I'm grateful they allowed me to be the last player to wear the number 7."

He arrived in March to replace a teacher who also arrived as a replacement for a former teacher but eventually chose to leave. “It’s something I’m used to,” Borges said. “I have never started at a school at the beginning of the year.”

The library has been under renovation since November and one of the changes includes putting the books in new, smaller, mobile bookshelves and adding soft seating to complement the space. The goal of the new furniture was for it to be not only mobile, but updated. "Soft seating was something the student committee with parents and teachers all wanted," Hampton said.

The current goal of the orientation is to last at least eight weeks. “When they first come in and the assistant principals are teaching the class, it’s a little intimidating,” Gray said. “The students were definitely nervous and afraid to ask questions, but I’ve noticed since we’ve started week two that they are starting to open up a little bit more and ask questions.”

The Pickle (left), the Bacon (middle), and the Corn Dog Queen (right) sit on the tray with multiple containers of mustard and ketchup. The Pickle contained a juicy pickle with the meat inside the pickle. The Bacon contained a pork sausage infused with jalapeno and cheddar cheese.
