DIY Cereal Bars

These simple and delicious crunch cereal bars serve as a great choice for breakfast on the go. The recipes used have vegan and nut free alternatives and are easy to eat in the morning before school or work. The typical granola or breakfast bar you buy from the store has more than 10 grams of sugar in them while these contain only natural sugars.

 

Recipe

Prep time: five minutes

Baking Time: 20 minutes

 

Ingredients:

1 cup of honey nut cheerios or other similar cereal

½ cup of peanut butter

⅓ cup of coconut oil

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

¼ cup of honey (can substitute with maple syrup)

Dark chocolate chips

 

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Mix the the coconut and peanut oil in a large bowl

Gradually pour the Honey Nut Cheerios into the peanut butter mix

Slowly add in the honey/Maple syrup

Add the vanilla extract

Mix well

Grease a regular baking pan (this can be done when you preheat the oven)

Add mixture to the pan and smooth down

Sprinkle the dark chocolate chips on top

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes

Wait until cool then cut into rectangular shapes
