DIY: bath bombs

The company Lush is notorious for their fragrant bath bombs, bubble bars and more. All of their fizzy concoctions are made using vegan and vegetarian recipes, and they cost about eight dollars each. They seem inexpensive but when you use them daily the dollars add up. This leaves the question: Can bath bombs be recreated at home for a better custom and economically solution? Bath bombs contain citric acid and baking soda which react with the water to produce carbon dioxide (which makes the bubbles), sodium citrate and water. Other ingredients are added to customize the bath bombs and make them more enjoyable to use like: essential oils, rose petals, food coloring and glitter. Sodium Citrate is an ingredient commonly found in Lye based soaps. In order to make these do it yourself bath bombs you will need:

Citric Acid
Baking soda
Essential oils (whatever you prefer I recommend something like vanilla and lavender or rosemary and mint)
Food coloring
Bath salts
Circular molds

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl and put the wet ingredients like the essential oils and some water in a spray bottle. Add your food coloring to mix of dry ingredients in the bowl and mix thoroughly. Spray the dry ingredients with the essential oils and water. It might take a second to get the consistency right. Keep playing with it until it is a moldable texture. Put the mixture into the circular molds and make sure to pack it in so there are no air bubble that can cause cracks. Close the mold and put it in the fridge for ten to twelve hours.
