Lady Scots Sweep Richardson in Home Opener

On Friday, September 18th, our Lady Scots Varsity volleyball team battled the Richardson Eagles in their first district home game of the year. While Richardson was able to keep the game close at times, they were unable to match the Lady Scots’ teamwork, coordination, and resilience. Highland Park took the first round with ease, 25-17. Richardson rallied in round 2 and nearly pulled off an upset, but 3 unanswered scores for the Lady Scots off spikes from Jordan Westendorff, Emily Cheetham, and Elizabeth Gilley gave Highland Park a come from behind victory, 27-25. Richardson seemed demoralized in the third and final round and gave it up by the biggest margin of the night, 25-15. Throughout their impressive display of dominance against their opponent, the Lady Scots maintained good spirits and selfless teamwork even when they were behind. Their next game is Tuesday, September 22nd, at 5:30. They will be playing at home against Lake Highlands and everyone is encouraged to come out and show your support for as our #3 in the nation Lady Scots continue their push for the #1 spot.
