DIY stress balls
With the end of the year quickly approaching, exams seem more daunting and the amount of studying is growing. The time spent doing this project can take the place of your study breaks. Not only will it get you thinking and your brain into action, you will get a really fun and super cute product out of it. Furthermore, all the items needed for this project are easy to find and can be found in completely organic options so that they are safe for the use of young children and not hazardous to your health.
The following ingredients will need to be found:
Water beads- these can be found at a superstore like Walmart or craft store like Michaels. If worst comes to worst, you can just order them on Amazon.
Water- this item should be in your house.
Balloons- this item can be found at a party supply store or a grocery store. For a safer option, try a latex-free balloon so that people with sensitive skin do not break out and react to the latex. Take it from someone with sensitive skin- this is annoying and really uncomfortable.
Now comes the steps. First off, you will need to put the beads in a medium-sized glass bowl. Put all of the beads in the bowl and then completely submerge them in water. Make sure that all of the beads are touching water. Once this is done, then let them sit for six hours. During this time you can continue studying for that next big exam or two that you have- sounds fun, right?
The second step is fun, but it can be very tricky. The goal is to get all of the water beads into a water bottle. A regular sized plastic water bottle will get the task done. Fill the bottle up with the beads to just below the cap area and make sure not to fill them up over the edge.
Once you have finished this, take one of the balloons and carefully stretch it across the top. Be careful to not stretch it too far because it can rip and then you will be down a balloon. When the balloon is securely in place, tip the water bottle upside down and allow the beads to fall into the balloon. As the balloon begins to get heavier, you should hold it in place until all of the water beads have left the bottle. When all of the beads are in the balloon, release the air from the inside of the balloon and tie off the top. You have just made your very own stress ball.
