Bust a movie
Three ways to elevate your movie going experience
- Midnight Movies
Very few people know that select theaters in Dallas show midnight movies every Friday and Saturday night. Going to a midnight movie is something that I believe every teenager should get the chance to do during their high school career.
Theaters such as Landmark Inwood, and Angelika Film Center will take it a step further, by having interactive shows mixed into the regular midnight movies. The next interactive midnight movie is going to be a Grease Sing-A-Long at Landmark Inwood on May 4th and 5th.
If you are not as into the interactive aspect of the theater, you can see movies such as The Shining, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and A League of Their Own.

2. Dolby Cinema
Dolby Cinema is a new option for seeing certain movies in AMC theaters. In Dallas, the closest one is located in AMC Northpark. Although the tickets tend to be more pricey, the experience is well worth it, especially when viewing action movies.
The perks of Dolby Cinema are plenty. “Astonishing brightness, deep darks and vibrant colors render each moment with spectacular impact,” says the official Dolby Cinema Website. “Breathtaking sound in Dolby® fills the room and flows all around you.”
This new and improved movie going experience gives you surround sound like never before, because the huge leather recliners shake when there are explosions, truly imercing you into the plot.

3. Drive in Movies
Just like Danny and Sandy from Grease, you can go to Galaxy Drive-In Movie Theater to see a drive-in double feature. There are seven screens that show two movies in a row of a similar genre.
All you have to do is buy a ticket online for the low price of seven dollars for adults and three dollars for kids, then show your tickets – one per person in the car – at the gate.
There are no daytime shows, due to the lighting being prime for movie watching at night. The first movie starts at eight pm, and the second movie starts directly after the first movie is over.
The movies played at Galaxy are most likely going to be the same as the ones in theaters near you.
