Marshall Bruce Mathers III, also known as his stage name “Eminem”, has just released a brand new album named Revival. This is the first album Eminem has come out with since 2013 when he released his album The Marshall Mathers LP2. Revival was released on Dec. 15. The new album features other artists such as Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Phresher, P!nk, Kehlani, Skylar Grey and X Ambassadors.The album consists of 19 songs including “Untouchable” which was released as a single prior to the album.

At age 14, Eminem began rapping with high-school friend Mike Ruby; they adopted the names “Manix” and “M&M”, hence his now stage name Eminem. In 1999, he started gaining fame through the song and album ‘Slim Shady.” The album certified triple platinum that year.

In 2000, The Marshall Mathers LP album was released. The album sold 1,760,000 albums that week. “The Real Slim Shady” was a huge hit, and “Stan” was named the third greatest rap song of all time by the Q Magazine. The song has been ranked 296th on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list.

In 2002, Eminem released another album, The Eminem Show, which reached number one on the charts and sold over 1.3 million copies during its first full week. The album sold 30 million copies worldwide, and was the best selling album of that year.

Encore, released in 2004, was another success. Its sales were partially driven by the first single, “Just Lose It.”

In 2005 Curtain Call: The Hits was released on Dec. 6 by Aftermath Entertainment. During its first week, it sold nearly 441,000 copies in the U.S., and was Eminem’s fourth consecutive number-one album on the Billboard Hot 200.The album has been certified double platinum by the RIAA.

Relapse, Eminem’s album was released on May 19 and its first single and music video, “We Made You“, was released on April 7.

His seventh album was released on June 18. In the U.S., Recovery sold 741,000 copies during its first week, topping the Billboard 200 chart. Eminem’s sixth consecutive U.S. number-one album also topped the charts in several other countries. Recovery remained atop the Billboard 200 chart for five consecutive weeks of a seven-week total.

Eminem is the best selling artist of the 2000’s in the United States. Throughout his music career, he has had 10 number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Eminem has sold over 47.4 million albums and 42 million tracks. Globally, he has sold more than 172 million albums.
