The English singer-songwriter Sam Smith came out with his new album “The Thrill Of It All” on Nov. 3. The album consists of 14 songs including “Too Good At Goodbyes” which has gotten more than 281 million views on the music video uploaded on YouTube on Sept. 18. The popular song came out as a single on Sept. 8. It has also reached number one in the United Kingdom and number five on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Smith started his music career in 2012 when he was featured in the Disclosure song “Latch.” The song reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. Smith’s career took off from there. In February of 2013, he released his first single from his debut album, “Lay Me Down.” Smith was also featured in Naughty Boy’s single “La La La” which also reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. That same year he released his first EP, Nirvana, which consisted four popular songs including the acoustic version of “Latch” and a live version of “I’ve Told You Now.” His second single from his debut album, “Money On My Mind”, was released in February of 2014. Smith’s album, In The Lonely Hour, was released through Capitol Records in May of 2014. The popular album reached number one on the UK Album Charts and number two on the Billboard 200. By November of that year, it was the second biggest selling album behind Taylor Swift’s album, 1989. In March of 2015, his song “Lay Me Down”, was released as the sixth single from the album and peaked to number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Smith’s third US top 10 single. That same month he released a new version of the song featuring John Legend, which reached number one on the UK Charts. At the Billboard Music Awards in 2015, Smith received three awards: Top Male Artist, Top New Artist and Top Radio Song Artist. In October of 2015, Smith was presented with two Guinness World Records: one for recording the first “James Bond” theme song, which was released in September of 2015 to also go to number one in the UK, and another for scoring the most consecutive weeks in the UK top 10. At the 73rd Golden Globe Awards, he received an award for the Best Original Song for his James Bond theme song “Writing’s On The Wall.” The song also caused Smith to receive an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
