Lead singer of The Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan, was found unresponsive in a hotel room in London on the Jan. 15. The Irish artist was visiting London to record a cover of her hit song, “Zombie,” with the rock band Bad Wolves.

O’Riordan was found unresponsive and her death was verified at the scene. The Metropolitan Police Service deemed the death of the 46 year old non-suspicious.

A public funeral will be held on Sunday the Jan. 21 at Saint Joseph’s Church in Limerick. A private mass will be held on Tuesday Jan. 23 at the Church of Saint Ailbe in Ballybricken, which will be followed up with a family burial. The service on Tuesday is intended solely for O’Riordan’s family and close friends.

Bad Wolves has gone ahead and released their cover of “Zombie” as a tribute to O’Riordan, who never got to work on the track. All profits are going to O’Riordan’s three children.

“[Her death] is surreal and it’s been overwhelming and sad,” lead singer of Bad Wolves, Tommy Vext, said. “Regardless of the collaboration, the most important thing to me is that here are three kids who don’t have a mom. And it’s heartbreaking.”

The cause of O’Riordan’s death is unknown and won’t be announced until April, a London coroner’s office announced. Westminster’s Coroners’ Court said that there will be a hearing about their findings on April third. That being said, O’Riordan’s family will be informed of their findings and will have the choice of whether or not to publicize them.

“Dolores’ legacy will be her music,” Guitarist of The Cranberries Noel Hogan said. “She was so passionate about it. There are songs I hear today that we wrote over 20 years ago, and I see and hear people singing along with them… Dolores has so many [memorable songs].”

It’s a great legacy.”

O’Riordan will be buried in her homeland of Ireland at some point in the future.
