Gerald Earl Gillum, also known by his stage name G-Eazy just released his new single “Him & I” featuring Halsey on December 2. The music video for the song came out on December 2 and was uploaded to YouTube reaching over nine million views.

G-Eazy has risen to fame in the past couple of years, and at a fast rate. He started his music career in 2008 as he was a record producer. G-Eazy began working on songs while attending Loyola University in New Orleans with his producer Christoph Andersson. He collaborated with artists such as The Cataracs, Lil B and Crohn. G-Eazy then became a member of a local hip hop group “The Bay Boyz” and released some song on their MySpace page.

In 2010, he gained more popularity while being associate with rap artists such as Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg, while opening for both singers at their concerts.

In 2011, G-Eazy released his first mixtape The Endless Summer through his official website. The mixtape consisted of several songs from the 1960’s and featured guest appearances form artists such as Greg Banks, Erika Flowers and Devon Baldwin. In November of 2011, he started his worldwide tour with Shwayze.

In 2012, G-Eazy performed at all United States dates on the annual Vans Warped Tour, and was featured with the Excellent Adventure Tour. Later that year, he released his first full album Must Be Nice landed at number three on the iTunes Hip Hop Chart. G-Eazy along with rap artist 2 Chainz, opened for Lil Wayne’s “America’s Most Wanted Tour.”

In 2014 G-Eazy announced his “These Things Happen Tour” along with artists MMG’s Rockie Fresh, KYLE and Tory Lanez. Later that year he released his album These Things Happen which topped the US Billboard‘s Hip-Hop/R&B and Top Rap Albums charts. The popular album also reached the number 3 spot on the US Billboard 200 and the Top Digital Albums Chart and also had 265,000 copies sold. He experienced his first “From the Bay to the Universe” tour being sold out, which not only included stops in the US but also in Australia and New Zealand.

G-Eazy then released his When It’s Dark Out, was released on December 4, 2015. On January 6th he launched his second world tour for the album. His song featuring Bebe Rexha “Me, Myself, and I” reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100. G-Eazy performed “Make Me…” and “Me, Myself & I” with Spears at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

The full album The Beautiful and Damned will officially be released on December 15.
