Alecia Beth Moore, more commonly known as the American singer P!nk, recently came out with a new album on Oct. 13. Her new album Beautiful Trauma consists of 13 songs including “What About Us,” which was released as a single in August. It has had over 118 million views on YouTube. She has not been heard from in the music world since her last album, The Truth About Love, that came out in 2012.

P!nk first signed her first record label with R&B group, Choice, in 1995. LaFace only saw potential in P!nk and offered her a solo contract. In 2000 she released her first album as a solo artist. The album was titled Can’t Take Me Home. It was certified double-platinum in the United States, and the songs “There You Go” and “Most Girls” from the new album rose to the Billboard Hot 100 top ten hits. P!nk gained further recognition with the Moulin Rouge! Soundtrack, her song “Lady Marmalade” which gave her her first Grammy award and number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2001, P!nk took a turn in her music style and came out with the pop-rock album Missundaztood. The album sold more than 12 million copies worldwide and yielded three US top-ten singles: including the songs “Get The Party Started,” “Don’t Let Me Get Me” and “Just Like A Pill.”

In 2003 she came out with the album Try This, which did not gain a lot of listeners but did earned her a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance. She gained back her popularity with her 2006 album I’m Not Dead and 2008 album Funhouse. Funhouse, contained the song “So What” which happened to be her second US number one hit. P!nk concluded her first decade as a solo artist with her album Greatest Hits…So Far!! which included her third US number one single “Raise Your Glass.” In 2012 she released her album The Truth About Love debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. In 2012 P!nk also came out with two top ten singles “Blow Me (One Last Kiss),” “Try” and “Just Give Me A Reason.”

Recognized for the success in her career as a solo artist and acrobatic performances, P!nk has sold over 47 million albums worldwide, including over 16 million albums in the US. She has won a total of three Grammy Awards, a Brit Award, a Daytime Emmy Award and seven MTV Music Video Awards. She has been named the Pop Songs Artist of the Decade in 2009 for Billboard and has been ranked by VH1 as number 10 on their list of 100 Greatest Women in Music.

On Oct. 4, she tweeted out a one-minute link to the Apple Music documentary about the recording of her anticipated seventh studio album Beautiful Trauma and announced the 40-date North American arena tour in support of the release.
