The Angelika Film Center is a movie theater that opened in Mockingbird station.  You can go there every day to see movies of all kinds. I even saw Hidden Figures and La La Land there, two movies that I reviewed for this website.

The one thing that I recently found out about at The Angelika is that you can go see live performances there. In fact, starting on March 10, you can go see a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is the most unique theatre that I have ever seen.

The first floor of the theatre is built with a stage to see live performances, and the second floor is complete with four movie theaters. This basically means they have something for everyone.

The upcoming schedule has Hedda Gabler performed by the National Theater Company.  This show is directed by Tony Award-winning, Ivo van Hove.  Starring in this show is Ruth Wilson, who played Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre. This play is about a couple who gets back from their honeymoon and are already struggling to keep their relationship together. Hedda Gabler is a real look into the lives of everyday couples. Considering how good Jane Eyre is, I doubt anyone would be disappointed in this play.

The next thing that is coming to the Angelika Theater is The Tempest, by The Royal Shakespeare Company. It is about an unordinary man trapped and waiting on an unordinary island. This Shakespearean masterpiece should intrigue any theatre lovers, readers, and playgoers.

After The Tempest is gone, a ballet is also coming to the theatre.  

These three different types of theatre should show you just how special this theatre is. All types of plays, operas, and ballets are available for all types of people.
