Congrats to Scot Powerlifters who competed at the Berkner Powerlifting Meet Thursday night.  Zack Folts, James Lightbourn, Regan Riddle, and Ryan Butz finished 2nd in their weight classes while Noble Nash and Ben Boudreaux brought home 1st place medals

The Mens’ Varsity Soccer team defeated North Forney HIgh School 6-0 on Friday night. Goals were scored by Duncan James, Bosco Moldanado and Drew Wilkinson with assists by William Peacock, Houston Hyde, Felix Gotlieb and Duncan James. Matteo Corday earned the shut out.

Don’t forget to turn in your Cornerstone Scholar Athlete Application to the stadium athletic office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 10th.  No applications will be accepted late.  For an application, go to the HPISD website – Departments – Athletics – What’s Happening.  If you have any questions, please see the Head Coach of your sport.

For years you’ve been hearing about Robin Hood all over the Park Cities; well, this week you can get the real story or, okay, part of the story as the Seniors of 2017 present The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood.  Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and on Sunday afternoon at 2. Tickets are five dollars at the door.

The Varsity and JV girls basketball teams grabbed wins Friday night vs west mesquite.  The Varsity remains undefeated at 11-0. There will be a home game tomorrow night versus Forney.  Please come out and show your support for the Lady Scots, tip-off is at 5:30 and 7.

Students who are enrolled in a TaG class at the current time under a waiver must reapply for a new waiver by February 7th.  Waivers are not transferrable from year to year.  The applications are available in Room SC 108 and are due on February 7th.   Waivers are also available for students wishing to apply for a first time waiver.  They should be returned to Mrs. Raya in SC 108.

Seniors, be sure to check your school email for two Highlander surveys. Being logged into your school Google account makes access easier.

Do you sing in the car or in the shower?  If so you could also sing in the choir!!!  The HPHS Choral Department will be meeting potential new choir members for the 2017-2018 school year.  Come by the choir room Monday, January 30thafter school or Tuesday January 31st before school.  Meetings will be held in NW202, the large choir room on the 2nd floor above the cafeteria.  Current choir members will audition during their choir class period.  Mrs. Walker and Mr. Patel and all of your friends hope to see you in choir next year!

Any current 9th, 10th, or 11th grader interested in trying out for the 2017-2018 HPHS Cheerleading squad must bring a parent and attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, February 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Highland Park High School cafeteria. The tryout procedures, policies, and timeline will be addressed, and all tryout materials, including the applications, will be distributed.
