Attention ALL HPHS writers! Highland Park’s literary magazine, the Tartan, is looking for new submissions of poetry, stories and essays this year!! Interested in a chance for your work to be published? Submit your writing to us! To do so, submission folders and forms can be found in the library. The Tartan board would love to hear your unique voice through your writing.
Do you need service hours? In two weeks we will be doing our annual cash drive for coats for kids where you can earn up to 10 service hours! We will be using the raised funds to buy new coats from Burlington coat factory for children in south Dallas who wouldn’t get a coat without YOUR help. There is a direct link you can donate to on flyers around the school and on the SM Wright Club face book page. For any more questions contact Maddy McGuire.
All students and staff are invited to attend the Annual Senior Talent Show tonight at 6 pm in the Palmer Auditorium. The Class of 2017 will have everything from “The Lava Song” to “Toxic”, from classical guitar to classical music on the piano, from dancers to poetry! Tickets are only $5 and go on sale at 6:30.
It’s one night only so don’t miss it!
The Varsity and JV Lady Scots will complete in the Scot classic this weekend. the Varsity play tonight at 6pm in the main gym versus Ursuline and the JV will play TCA at 7:30 in the north gym. Good Luck to both teams!
This is a reminder to all clubs: Thanksgiving basket money is due to Mr. Hinton or Mrs. Grimes tomorrow.
November is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month. Student Council is sponsoring the Be Nice campaign all week. Tomorrow is Friendly Friday, and Student Council will be passing out cookies during all lunches. Also, please keep adding thankful notes on our kindness tree outside the counseling office in the hallway leading to the cafeteria.
If you wish to donate to the Trim the Turkey Drive, you can donate on the North Texas Food Bank website through Thanksgiving. Please don’t forget to submit your hours on the x2vol database.
