Student Council will be hosting a RSVP (Raising Student Voice and Participation) on Thursday. Everyone is invited. Anyone interested in leading and sharing ideas, come and be a part of this planning for our newest campaign.
Please join us in the StuCo room, EC001, Thursday morning at 7: 30 or if you have a 6th period lunch, bring your lunch and come join us then. We will have free chicken minis and JD’s.

Mark your calendars now for the upcoming Highland Belles Candidate and Parent Tryout Meeting. Anyone wishing to try out for the 2017-18 team needs to come, along with a parent, to the informative meeting Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:00pm. You do not have to be currently enrolled in Belles Prep in order to try out for the team. Please see Mrs. Phillips or Mrs. Sanchez if you have any questions.
Attention ALL HPHS writers! Highland Park’s literary magazine, the Tartan, is looking for new submissions of poetry, stories and essays this year!! Interested in a chance for your work to be published? Submit your writing to us! To do so, submission folders and forms can be found in the library. The Tartan board would love to hear your unique voice through your writing.
HP103, A Party with a Purpose, is this Saturday, November 5 from 8:00pm – 11:00pm at Edison’s, 1724 Cockrell Ave. It’s an all student, no date, Texas Tux party that raises money for the HPISD Endowment Fund, specifically for future HPHS Scots! There will be a DJ, dance contest, casino games, photo booth, refreshments and prizes including an Apple Watch, a Yeti Cooler and Northpark Gold! Tickets are $75 and can be purchased at HPEF.org. Reservations will be held at the door but no tickets will be sold at the door. Grab your friends and come to the best party of the year!
The Running Scots finished 5th overall in the team standings at the 5A Region II Championship Meet. Outstanding performances were turned in by Jorge Rodriguez and Logan Gwinn. Jorge Rodriguez finished with a personal best time of 16:22 to finish 6th overall. Logan Gwinn turned in a time of 16:50 to finish 21st overall. Both qualified to compete in the UIL State Championship Meet in Round Rock on Saturday, November 12th. Go Scots!
Your Scots volleyball team begins the state playoffs on Tuesday against Texas High. The match will be played at Wills Point High School at 8:00. Please come and cheer on your volleyball team! Go Scots! Beat Texas High!
Congratulations to the Lady Scots Cross Country Team as the team qualified for the State Meet by placing 4th at the Region II Meet on Saturday. The team was led by Sophie Schott as she placed 15th. The other team members were Olivia Scott placed 22nd, Annemarie Whalen placed 27th, Emma Parker placed 32nd, Grace Beitter placed 38th, Maddy Stephens placed 44th, and Grace O’Keefe placed 46th.
The State Meet is Saturday, November 12th.
