Guess what?!?! Summer service hours are due this Friday no later than 11:59pm – this is a hard deadline, so enter them ASAP. See Mrs. Brennan in WC203 no later than 3pm this Friday if you have any questions.
Mark your calendars now for the upcoming Highland Belles Candidate and Parent Tryout Meeting. Anyone wishing to try out for the 2017-18 team needs to come, along with a parent, to the informative meeting Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:00pm. You do not have to be currently enrolled in Belles Prep in order to try out for the team. Please see Mrs. Phillips or Mrs. Sanchez if you have any questions.
At home football game this fall, Bowl and Barrel will sponsor a Field Goal kicking competition for HPHS seniors. One senior will be announced at the pep rally on Fridays of each home game. Seniors can sign-up in Mr. Heckman’s office. The senior chosen will have 1 chance to make a field goal at the end of halftime. If the kick is made, the senior will receive a $250 scholarship toward their college expenses. If the kick is missed, the senior will receive a $100 restaurant gift card.
Tuesday night, the Boys and Girls Highland Park Swimming and Diving Team competed in a dual meet against Woodrow Wilson High School. The girl’s team beat the Wildcats 123 points to Woodrow’s 74 points and the Boys team demolished the Woodrow boys 142 points to 38 points. The Scots also won 21 out of 24 events throughout the night. Overall in combined team scores, the Scots swam to a victory defeating Woodrow by over 153 points! Swimmers of the meet were Claire Kornman and John MacMichael. Way to go Scots!

Interested in a chance for your work to be published? Submit your writing to us! To do so, submission folders and forms can be found in the library. The Tartan board would love to hear your unique voice through your writing.
Your Scots Volleyball team will have a playoff warm-up match Saturday morning at 8:30 at Highland Park against Pearce. Please come and share your Saturday morning with the volleyball team. Also, the first playoff match will be Tuesday night at Wills Point at 8:00 against Texas High. Go Scots Volleyball!!
