Austin Java
On Saturday April 2, I was in Austin, Texas, and went to Austin Java (located on Parkway) for breakfast. It is a hole-in-the-wall cafe that serves a variety of food. As I was trying to decide what to order, the woman working the register kept a conversation going with me for a few minutes. She happened to be one of the nicest cashiers I have encountered on my weekly coffee runs.
I got the chocolate chip pancake and the latte with vanilla and caramel syrup. The coffee was give to me in a white mug. It was much sweeter than I liked, but that is the best problem to have with a latte. The pancake I ordered was fabulous; it was huge and came with brown sugar-cinnamon butter.
The layout of this shop was pretty neat. The front was rustic and filled with little tables and chairs tucked away in every corner and alcove. If you venture to the back, there is a door that leads to a patio area which includes a small stage for performing music or comedy. This patio room is much less cramped than the front room, so although it might be slightly less convenient to eat there, it is worth it.
If you happen to be in Austin and are trying to decide where to go for breakfast, I recommend Austin Java for their food, coffee, and service.
