Dream Cafe
Over spring break I took a fifteen minute drive to Dream Cafe for breakfast one morning. Not only are their breakfast foods superb, but their coffee is also great. This cafe is located in the Quadrangle in Uptown, and there is a parking garage dedicated to the variety of shops within the area.
I sat in a booth and ordered the cloud cakes and a caramel latte. The cloud cakes were topped with cream and strawberries, and were delicious, but they were ginormous. The caramel latte was great once I got through the tall layer of foam, which I did not like the latter. I appreciated how the foam was topped with cinnamon, since that was an addition I had not yet seen in Dallas. The actual coffee part of the drink was sweet, but not too rich. I would have liked there to be less foam and more coffee.
The service of Dream Cafe was phenomenal. My waiter kept cracking jokes and stopped by the booth frequently to make sure the food was satisfactory. I believe he tricked me into ordering a side dish as well, so be sure you know what you want. He challenged me to finish my ginormous stack of pancakes. I was not able to whatsoever.
It is open from from 7-9 daily, and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, I recommend Dream Cafe for the food over the coffee, but it is the perfect place to chat with friends.
