Serj’s Books
On Sunday January 10 at around 3 o’clock, I went downtown to Serj’s Books. It was slightly difficult to navigate since downtown is full of one way streets, and parking is very limited. Luckily after finding this hole in the wall shop, I parked in a spot with a meter, so parking is cheaper than some places.
As I walked up to order, the barista asked me if I wanted to hear a joke, so of course I said sure. He told one to me, and then explained that he told each customer a joke of the day. The service there is friendly, and the two workers aimed to make sure I had the best experience possible.
I ordered a caramel latte, and it was served in a glass mug. It was one dank cup of coffee as well. The latte was not too sweet, but rich and full of flavor.
The decor is one of my favorite aspects of this shop. the walls are covered in wood planks, with boards that stick out so books could be mounted. You are able to look at the books while you dine, or you can purchase them, as they sell for their price on Amazon. While some of the chairs and tables are more rustic, some are covered in paper. On these tables, there are cups of crayons, so you can color and doodle on them. Therefore it is a kid friendly place while still being sophisticated in some aspects.
I liked everything about Serj’s Books except I wish it was closer and more convenient to get to. I recommend this shop if you want your coffee to come with great service and like everything served to be local.
