Terrible Writing

Writing a webstory for yearbook is a stressful and hard thing to do. You have to pick a topic that you truly care about or it will just turn out like crap, and you will be doing corrections until you want to cry. Yearbook is probably the hardest and most stressful class at HPHS and many people who are in yearbook agree.

Chances of finding a topic that you actually care about is around one in one thousand. You still have to write it since it’s a major grade. You must do the webstory or you will get a big fat zero on your report cards and have Perkins breathing down your back twenty four-seven.

“I don’t really do anything in my free time except for yearbook because the amount of work is very heavy. This makes choosing a topic somewhat difficult, and I usually pick something very generic that all people could write or relate to, but it can sometimes make it hard to make the writing interesting because it’s something everyone knows about. My web stories usually end up being a win lose situation. When turning the web story into Perkins, she will either love it and praise you forever or you will come in at 7 am and rewrite the story completely,” freshman Reagan Van Eaton said.

Most times the topics of the web stories can leave you scratching your head, thinking how the heck am I going to write this. Writing for a webstory is hard because if you are not a naturally good writer, then you will have a lot of trouble writing the story. Also sometimes you will get a topic that you have no idea what it is about.

“My web stories can be hard because I am a business manager and haven’t really interviewed many people before. I am normally a pretty good writer, but I still have to go to and do a lot of corrections to make it ready for Perkins to post it on HPHS Media. Web stories are kind of hard to write because it not like an English paper where only your teacher sees the paper, the whole school can see the web story, so it adds a little pressure to writing it,” senior Rachel Weaver said.

Web stories can be pretty tricky to write especially for those people who are not naturally good at writing and grammar. With the help of Perkins and the your fellow writers, you can come up with a pretty good story at the end even if you go through 3 weeks of corrections.
