Welcome to the end of eras

In 2013 Panic! At the Disco released their album Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!. Their single, “Miss Jackson” set the stage for the album and it didn’t fail to impress. Now over two years after that release the band is releasing yet another album. This one is entitled Death of a Batchelor and it is set to be released on January 15, 2016.

This upcoming album has four songs out for purchase. The first one being “Hallelujah” which was released on April 20, for very ironic purposes. Afterwards “Victorious”, “Emperor’s New Clothes”, and “LA Devotee” were released, with “LA Devotee” being released as a countdown single for the new album. The album was first announced in October and will be their fifth studio album.

The band first started in Las Vegas, Nevada in with five original members. Eleven years ago these five teens came together to create a band and released their first studio album a year later. Front man Brendan Urie was only 18 at the time of their first album release. However in the last 11 years all but one of the original members have left the band leaving Urie as the last original member still in the band.

Death Of A Bachelor is said to be named this way due to what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100 birthday on December 12. It is said that Urie connects Sinatra with memories of his youth and this album is a tribute to the him, a tribute to the end of a century of Sinatra. Along with that Victorious is supposedly about Urie’s own athleticness, while Hallelujah is rumored to deal with Urie’s religious upbringing and the idea that being able to own up to your sins is a brave. The background behind the song and video for Emperor’s New Clothes starts with their song This Is Gospel. The video for the new song starts off where the video for This Is Gospel ends, and the song is supposed to be about overcoming circumstances and wining “the crown.” The last song already released is LA Devotee which is said to be about making it big when coming to an overwhelming city like Los Angeles.

These songs and more will be for sale on January 15 when the album Death of Bachelor is officially out, although it can be pre-ordered now.
