Boys Basketball: HP Scots vs. Euless Lions
The boys varsity basketball team beat the Euless Lions handily on Tuesday, 85-53. Their excellent shooting and strong defense overpowered the Lions from the start. Senior, forward, Andrew Enzor started the game off with a three-pointer and set the tone for the rest of the game as the Scots steadily increased their lead to fifteen points at the half. Highland Park pulled further and further away from Ennis, increasing their lead to 24 points by the end of the third quarter after outscoring Ennis eighteen to eight in the third and ending the game with a 32 point advantage. Highland Park outscored Ennis Leading scorers for the Scots were senior, guard, Pete Davis with 18 points and Enzor with 12. The Scotties racked up an impressive 13 three-pointers and succeeding in both drawing fouls from Ennis and capitalized on resulting free throw attempts, going 14 for 20 from the line as a team.
The 2015-2016 promises to be an exciting season of Highland Park basketball as they aim to reclaim a playoff spot and win Highland Park’s first ever 6A playoff game before they move down to 5A competition next season. The boys’ next game is December 8th at Grapevine High School.
