Blue Apron Review

Blue Apron is a subscription service for chefs of all ages. This service is a box of pre-portioned, ready to make meals. The box has two plans; family, which feeds four and a 2-person plan which, as the name states, feeds two people. The recipes in this week’s box were; Thai Chicken Meatball Curry with Lemongrass and Jasmine Rice and Seared Steaks & Sage Brown Butter with Cauliflower, Beet & Apple Hash.

The curry was a good dish. The flavors of the curry powder, chicken and coconut milk blended very well with each other. The Instructions for this meal were very clear and the estimated time was very accurate. This was a very fun dish to make.

The steak and sage brown butter was an amazing dish. The hash was a great compliment to the steak. The steak was even better. The steak was made by hand so there was a real sense of accomplishment while cooking them. The sage butter was a very tart accent to the savory steak. This took a little longer than the instructions said, but the extra time was in the preparation, not necessarily the cooking time. The instructions though, were clear. This again was an enjoyable dish to make and was even better to taste.
