Weekend Coffee
On November 8 around 2 o’clock, I drove downtown to Weekend Coffee. It is located inside the Joule Hotel. Complimentary valet parking is offered to those visiting the shops. The coffee shop is through the doors, up the small staircase, and to the right.
The shop is small and is enclosed by floor to ceiling glass doors. Options for coffee and non coffee drinks are listed on a chalkboard, and the syrups available are vanilla and mocha. I ordered an eight ounce vanilla latte, after being given the option of an eight or 12 ounce. It took a while for the barista to make my latte, but it was superb once I received it. The foamy milk was thick and warm and not too sweet. I would recommend.
Weekend Coffee is a hipster coffee shop from the people there to the decor. There is a neon sign behind the counter of a coffee mug and around the shop are a few round hoops with multicolored yarn strung around them. For seating, you can either sith in the shop on trendy bar stools facing a high end, hipster shop, or you can sit right outside the shop in huge comfy chairs and couches. Since this Weekend Coffee is so popular, all of the seating with the couches were taken, so I sat on the barstools.
The baristas were friendly and talkative, creating a welcoming environment. Despite this, the service was slow. They were constantly making beverages, but with only one person working the machines, it took a while.
Overall I liked Weekend Coffee. The coffee is great, though it is a longer drive and studying there would be difficult, but it is a nice place to go with friends and relax. You also have the opportunity to visit other little shops in the front of the Joule Hotel.
