Our wildest dreams come true
It’s not surprising that Taylor Swift executed yet another flawless performance on October 17th at the AT&T Stadium on the North Texas stop of her 1989 tour. From the lighting effects to the costume changes to the staging, everything was first rate and flawless. Shawn Mendes and Vance Joy were the opening acts and they got the crowd fired up with their energetic sets. In between performances, there were videos, trivia questions and questions answered by Swift herself in order to entertain the audience so that there was never a dull moment. After about an hour and a half of the opening acts, the crowd went wild as Swift entered the stage to thousands of flashing lights and screams from her adoring fans. She broke into her song “Welcome to New York” and never looked back from there as she treated the audience to most of her hits and a few surprises as well. The songs created an upbeat tone in a way that made it seem as though her songs were better in person than on the radio.
The show not only supplied the star that the crowd demanded for, but it also provided dancers in the back who entertained the people with amazing choreography and a type of movement that makes people want to get up and dance. Besides the fact that the dancers brought a techno vibe to the show, the robotic and almost electric movements added a modern touch to coordinate with Swift’s mashups. There was not a very wide variety in clothing choices for almost all of her outfits consisted of a crop-top with a sweetheart neckline and either a skirt or pair of shorts with it. However, these outfits were displayed in a way that created different ideas and corresponded to each song. For months Swift has hosted concerts around the country and has generated major headlines as she brought noted special guest stars on stage with her. Her past guest stars have included Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas and Gigi Hadid, just to name a few. A sellout crowd of Swifties (as her fans are known) all over the stadium were wondering who she would bring to Dallas. When the guest entered the stage, every single person screamed with excitement as Ellie Goulding walked out with Swift.
There were only two disappointing factors of the concert: getting in the stadium and getting out. The traffic heading there was bad enough, but leaving was a nightmare. Other than that, the concert provided a great night with an even greater artist. It seemed as if through the whole concert Swift was trying to send out important messages toward her fans. She was honest and open with her opinions and everybody seemed to love that about her. From hardcore fans to those who just went along with their kids, almost everyone seemed to have a good time with Swift and her performance set.
