On Thursday Oct. 15, the Junior Varsity Blue football team played the Lake Highlands Wildcats Junior Varsity Red team at Highlander Stadium. Highland Park’s offense was able to put up impressive 31 points in the first half, but their defense was even more outstanding. HP linebackers and defensive linemen put pressure on Lake Highland’s quarterback on nearly every play and sacked him for lost yardage over and over again. Junior, linebacker Adam Mahmalji lead the Scot’s defense with three sacks on the night and both defensive back John Sell and linebacker Chris Walker intercepted passes with Walker returning his for a touchdown Highland Park touchdown. The Wildcats defense kept the Scots from scoring the whole second half and their offense was able to put a few drives together into Highland Park territory but they failed to come away with any points. The final score was 31-0, Scots.
