JV Volleyball’s Strong Performance
The Lady Scots volleyball teams hosted the Richardson-Berkner Sheep on Tuesday and all 3 teams delivered excellent performances, as we’ve come to expect from them. The Junior Varsity team put on a particularly good show, even after the start of the game was delayed by over half an hour. 5 scores from both Avery Percy and KB Stainback, who scored on 5 consecutive serves, lifted the Lady Scots to an easy 25-11 win in the first set. Most of the second set was equally one-sided in Highland Park’s favor, but the Sheep started to play in a more organized fashion and went on a few scoring runs late in the set. Their efforts came too late however and the Lady Scots scored the necessary 25th point to win before Berkner could pose a serious threat, taking the second and winning set 25-11 as they had done in the set before. Junior, Avery Percy continued her scoring into the 2nd set with 4 points off spikes and sophomore, Hannah Vandermeer contributed 3, propelling the Lady Scots to another district victory.
