FCA has it’s first huddle meeting tonight at 3313 Wentwood, Grayson Willis’s house at 7 pm. The legendary Coach Allen will be speaking and there will be queso so come on out for a great time! If you’re a member of ROOTS or ISI, still feel free to come.

CSC is having their first meeting of the year on Monday September 11 from 6-7 pm in room C204. Come and join us to learn more about CSC, future meetings and service opportunities, as well as listen to two guest speakers. Go to our website for more information.

The Running Scots competed well in the Marcus I Invitational at North Lakes Park in Denton on Saturday.  The boys elite varsity finished 4th among 5A schools and Outstanding performances were turned in by Jack Alessio and Joseph Linck.  In the varsity open division the Running Scots were 4th among 5A schools and were led by Tyler Mead and Matthew Lippman.  In the Elite JV division the team finished 4th among 5A schools Ethan Moss led the way.  The Running Scots finished 6thamong 5A teams in the JV Open division and were led by Luke Stone.  The Golden Spike award for runner of the week goes to Joseph Linck.  The team will compete this Saturday in the Southlake Carroll Invitational at Bob Jones Park in Southlake.  Go Scots!!

The French Club would very much like to announce a meeting on the morning announcements for all French students taking place on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the HPHS Cafeteria

The Fine Arts Department is proud to present the 2017-18 musical, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.   Performances will be this coming Saturday and Sunday and the following Saturday and Sunday.   Tickets may be purchased in the Box Office, SC 108,across from the Palmer Auditorium. starting today.

The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed well at the Marcus I Meet on Saturday. In the Elite Varsity Division, the team placed 13th out of 30 teams.  Sophia Oliai led the team followed by Cameron Fawcett, Maddy Stephens, Grace O’Keefe, Alex Davey, Annemarie Whalen, and Emily Nelson. In the Open Varsity Division, the team placed 9th.  The team members were Isabel Blaylock, Gracyn Applegate, Jordyn Kaplan, Elle Thompson, and Sydney Denison. In the Elite JV Division, the team placed 4th.  The top 3 runners for the Lady Scots were Julia Helton, Ellie Henry, and Ashley Booe. In the Open JV Division, the team placed 3rd.  The top 3 runners for the Lady Scots were Lizzy Brimmage, Breanne Spence, and Elle Muenker.

If you are a junior or senior and have completed Spanish 3, to apply for Spanish National Honor Society you must attend one mandatory meeting either on Wednesday September 6 at 3:30 or Thursday September 7 at 7:30 in ES107.

Attention juniors and seniors wishing to apply for membership in the National Honor Society- Mandatory Application meetings will be held before and after school on both Wednesday, September 13th and Thursday, September 14th. The September 13th morning meeting will start at 7:30am in room WC213 and the afternoon meeting will begin at 3:45pm in room C206. The September 14th morning meeting will begin at 7:30am in the auditorium and the afternoon meeting will begin at 3:45pm in room C206. Students applying for NHS must attend ONE of these meetings. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE- YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. Current members DO NOT need to attend an application meeting. Please see Mr. Meidenbauer or Ms. Cassell if you have any questions.

The Club Fair will be held today through Thursday in the Cafeteria during all lunches. Come check them out and discover the many opportunities to get involved.
