Alex’s Creamy Thai Eggnog Boba Tea

December 9, 2021

From late night tiptoe excursions to the kitchen at sleepovers, to a crisp sunrise christmas brunch with your friends, pouring a glass of chilled Thai eggnog boba is always the move.

Thai tea, eggnog, condensed milk and boba make up this drink. It is a combination of two classically Asian elements and the traditional American holiday day drink of eggnog, making it a fusion of cultures with a seasonal twist.

Boba are tapioca pearls, commonly placed in milky tea, which originated in Taiwan. Boba and Thai tea are some Asian delicacies that have been often frequented by my friends and I to sip on while hanging out, drawn to them because of their unique individual taste and their compatibility with other foods.

This drink came from a spontaneous night with friends and a barren fridge with minimal ingredients. We laid out all the ingredients we could find for a drink and started mixing them all together, pouring eggnog, Thai tea, condensed milk, and boba into a glass. And thus, the Thai tea eggnog

boba was born.

With the first sip, your taste buds are hit with the tropical taste of Thailand, complemented with the thick creaminess of eggnog. And as the end of your drinking experience nears, you get the satisfying feeling of biting down on soft, gummy boba balls.

With a glass filled to the brim with cold fresh thai tea and boba piled at the bottom of the glass, this drink is gorgeous, and perfect for Instagram or Pinterest.

Now every time my friends and I spend late nights together, no matter what we are doing, we are always accompanied by our iced Thai tea eggnog boba.

The next time you’re thirsty after a family feast, indulge in this delight on top of your long day spent with your closest friends and family.
