Hello Students! CSC is having their first meeting of the year tonight from 6-7 pm in room C204. Come and join us to learn more about CSC, future meetings and service opportunities, as well as listen to two guest speakers. Go to our website for more information.

The Running Scots competed in the Southlake Invitational at Bob Jones Park on Saturday.  The Varsity competed in the 5A division and finished 11th overall.  The team was led by Brett Jacot with a time of 17:44.  The Junior Varsity finished 5th in the 5A division and was led by Reese Hathaway with a time of 18:35.  Golden Spike Award for runner of the week goes to Brett Jacot.  The Running Scots will compete next Saturday in the Gerald Richey Invitational at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.  Go Scots!

Are you looking for a great way to get community service hours? You can help out with this year’s CSC car wash from 9am to noon this Saturday September 16 in the teacher parking lot. Come sign up in Mrs. John’s room, C204. Spots are limited! If you can’t work the car wash, be sure to come support Scottish Rite by getting your car washed.

If you are interested in being involved with this year’s HPLitFest, there will be an informational meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, at 7:40 am in EC212.

Do you like being active? Are you a fan of Harry Potter? The highland park Quidditch team is having practice THURSDAY at 7:00 at Germany park. No previous experience is required. Come and bring your friends to practice to be sorted and compete. Remember it’s B-Y-O-B, bring your own broom

This is the last weekend to see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.   Come by SC 108 to buy your tickets for this Saturday and Sunday!

The Lady Scots Cross Country Team competed well at the McKinney Boyd Invitational on Saturday.  In the 6A Varsity Division, the team placed 1st.  Sophia Oliai won the meet with a time of 18:45.79, Maddy Stephens placed 4th, and Cameron Fawcett placed 5th.  The other team members were Grace O’Keefe, Annemarie Whalen, Alex Davey, and Gracyn Applegate.
The 5A Varsity team also placed 1st.  The team members were Julia Helton, Emily Nelson, Sydney Denison, Anastasia Helms, Jordyn Kaplan, Ashley Booe, and Ellie Henry. The JV Division team placed 1st.  The top 3 runners for the Lady Scots were Libby Kinahan, Aerin Roberts, and Lizzy Brimmage.  Yeah cross country!

Juniors and seniors wishing to apply for membership in the National Honor Society-Mandatory Application meetings will be held before and after school on both Wednesday, September 13th and Thursday, September 14th. The September 13th morning meeting will start at 7:30am in room WC213 and the afternoon meeting will begin at 3:45pm in room C206. The September 14thmorning meeting will begin at 7:30am in the auditorium and the afternoon meeting will begin at 3:45pm in room C206. Students applying for NHS must attend ONE of these meetings. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE- YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED. Current members DO NOT need to attend an application meeting. Please see Mr. Meidenbauer or Ms. Cassell if you have any questions.

Best Buddies is having their first meeting of the school year Wednesday at 7:30 pm in the cafeteria. All returning and new members must attend.

If you park in the lot on Douglas between the band hall and the stadium, please remember you need to move your car no later than 4pm for Marching Band practice.
