The 65 Roses Club drive is having their annual Rose drive during all lunches in the Cafeteria today until next Thursday. Send roses to your friends, more than friends, and teachers for $3 benefitting those diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. The roses will be delivered on Friday, February 10th.”

Congrats to the HP Powerlifters who competed at Pearce Thursday.  Avery Lewis finished 3rd in his weight class and Grayson Serio and Ben Richardson each took home 2nd place.

Students who are enrolled in a TaG class at the current time under a waiver must reapply for a new waiver by February 7th.  Waivers are not transferrable from year to year.  The applications are available in Room SC 108 and are due on February 7th.   Waivers are also available for students wishing to apply for a first time waiver.  They should be returned to Mrs. Raya in SC 108.

Over 1500 of you did not make it to the Senior Play last night.  Fortunately, you have both Friday and Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2 pm, to make up for this egregious insult to Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham.  Be there or you might be sent to the dungeon of Demise!

Listen up all you Scots underclassmen! If you are a freshman, sophomore or junior, Academic Decathlon wants you for next year. Yes you, the student with the 4.5gpa or higher. Yes you with the 3.8gpa or lower, we want you! And you with the gpa somewhere between 3.8 and 4.5, we want you too! Academic Decathlon wants you to be part of next year’s program. If you have any questions, please see Coach Bergeron in the math department or Coach Alvarado in the science department. Academic Decathlon wants you!

Congratulations to your girls soccer team who is currently undefeated and ranked number two in the nation. After winning their opening district game with a 3-0 win over Lovejoy the team returns to Highlander Stadium on Friday night. JV Gold takes on Denton Guyer at 4:30 with JV Navy following that game against North Forney. Varsity scheduled to kick-off at 7:30. We look forward to seeing you them.

Any current 9th, 10th, or 11th grader interested in trying out for the 2017-2018 HPHS Cheerleading squad must bring a parent and attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, February 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Highland Park High School cafeteria.

The tryout procedures, policies, and timeline will be addressed, and all tryout materials, including the applications, will be distributed. Candidates must attend the meeting and sign in to be eligible to try out. For questions, contact Whitney Wilbur at [email protected] Thank you and GO SCOTS!

Are you interested in joining the Sparkling Scots Squad? If so, there will be a mandatory Sparkles Cheer Interest Meeting on Tuesday, February 7th from 5:30-6:30 pm in room WC106. Both a PARENT AND THE CHEERLEADER/MENTOR SISTER must be at the meeting. Applications will only be available to pick up at the meeting. Juniors, are you interested in learning more about Sr. Internship Program? If so, plan to attend a meeting on Feb. 15th at 7:30am or 3:45pm in the cafeteria.

The annual blood drive will take place during school on Feb. 13th in the Mezzanine. You can sign up for the blood drive during your lunch this week. You must have permission from your teacher prior to signing up.  All participants will be required to have a Zika formed signed by their parents before donating; you can get this form when you sign up to donate. You must be 17 and 110 pounds. You can earn one service hour for donating, but you are responsible for entering your hours yourself. For each person who donates, we save 3 lives, so please lets work together to save as many lives as we can.
