The Dallas Stars have been on top of the NHL for most of this season. Before the new year, the Stars had the best record in the NHL and are still going strong. They are third in the league behind the Washington Capitals, led by Alexander Ovechkin, and the Chicago Blackhawks, led by Patrick Kane. The Stars were on a losing streak leading up to the All-star break until they faced the Calgary Flames who they beat 2-1. The All-star break could prove to be a good thing for the struggling Stars squad. Their January record was not very promising with only 3 wins, but Stars coach Lindy Ruff sees this month as a way to learn. Earlier this month, Ruff made significant changes to the team’s lineup. The Stars have a very good chance to make the playoffs again this year, and are good enough to go far.
