Football Playoffs: HP Scots vs. Irving Nimitz Vikings

The Scots played their first playoff game of the season at home in a rematch against the Irving Nimitz Vikings, who they defeated in round one last year. Senior Highland Park quarterback Henry Allen lit up the Viking defensive secondary, throwing for 269 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. Senior, receiver Chris Buell caught two touchdown passes and junior, JT Dooley added two more. Jack Toohey, also a junior, scored a touchdown.  Senior Grayson Borrego kicked the Scots’ only field goal, a 28-yarder, to give the Scots their final points of the night. Junior, running back Mark Eugene scored all of the Vikings’ points off long touchdown runs of 74 and 60 yard late in the game, but they came too late to have any effect. The final score was 38-12, Highland Park.

The Scots’ next game is on Saturday Nov. 21 at AT&T stadium. They will meet the Waco-Midway Panthers, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last year. The game will be played at 2:00 pm. Everyone is encouraged to come cheer on the Scots as they pay back the Panthers.
